This past weekend, club V in Yorkville hosted the Alternative Fashion Week After party, as part of the new Audio Visual Saturdays. While A.V Saturdays are guaranteed good times, leave it to Vicious Ent. and MFE to collaborate to present the crowd with a surprise, guerrilla-esque fashion show.
The show featured designs by BIONIC and jaw dropping hair styles by Atelier hair salon (Oakville).
As the crowd trickled in, they were given the opportunity to go behind the scenes and view the models, hairstylists and photographers at work in the VIP section at {V}. The stylists determined the look was going to be edgy and futuristic in contrast to the retro, graphic outfits that embraced the best of the sixties through eighties! One of the hairstylists told me his inspiration for the night was "Tetris", with very structured blocks of hair going up, down, left , ri- every way imaginable, even wrapping around his model’s jaw!
In organizing this event, my main concern was presentation which was certainly achieved instantly through the tremendous excitement and spirits that came together to create the night. The team consisted of seven experienced and talented hairstylists from Atelier Hair Salon in Oakville. Not only was I so excited to work with this dream team but they truly delivered the most creative yet beautiful hair-master pieces that totally rocked the night.
DJ’s Violca and Mr. Charlton were the icing on top as they both delivered incredible sets that had me and my pals dance till close!
All in all, fantastic music, a fashion show and incredible people made my night one for the books, I am still smiling!
