NYC has made it official; it’s time to think AUTUMN! The Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week 2009 is underway, and one of my favourite designers delivered a sexy collection of cocktail dresses that bare a lot of leg, and skin through the many geometrical cut-outs (a statement for fall ‘09!) none other than Preen.
Designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton focused mainly on body-con dresses and pushed the envelope on the cut-out trend. Some of their dresses bared a bit too much, but for the most part- flawless.
Along with the cocktail dresses, Bregazzi and Thornton are reinventing houndstooth using the bold black and white pattern in several of their coats and even some cute 60s styled mini-dresses. Keep Preen at the top of your list, they're on the rise and are showing no signs of slowing. Absolutely love these looks- enjoy!
Body-con = sexy, feminine, beautiful and a total must have trend for fall '09. Form fitting, yet flattering outfits with a high cut that shows a lot of leg.
The show concluded with a few pieces that (in my opinion) were quite similar to Emilio Pucci’s signature patterns. Regardless, the mini-dresses by Preen screamed for ice cream with bright hues that reminded me of candy shop – delicious!
