Love Headmistress

Fall is all about accessorizing, so I thought I'd share with you a company my friend introduced me to...I'm in love!

The company is called Headmistress and consists of delicate feathered pieces including headbands, bib necklaces, pins, brooches, rings and headdresses. Headmistress also features a collection of vintage fur pieces including a very old hollywood glam fur muff-clutch.

The free-spirited nature of this brand is right up my alley, and the best part is the founder, Jillian Wood, is a Canadian! You can find Headmistress pieces in stores all over the world, Wood is now based in Toronto.

Check out Headmistress here.

One of my favourite things to do is browse lookbook.nu, check out the various styles, but also note where the people are from. Headmistress posts images that fans send in of themselves wearing their brand. Take a look at the various places this company's feathers have spread too! Click here.

Mastering the Mini: Pucci

Peter Dundas has shown the world how to rock the mini. The long-sleeved mini (a fav look of mine) in particular. With deep subtle colours, it's not the usual print popping Pucci we're used to, but the embellishments and detailing make the fall 2010 collection far from plain. Lots of feminine lace and bejeweling, and flapper-esque fringe for a dynamic look. Still seeing lots of fur and feathers. This is a beautiful collection.

D&G give "sweats" a whole new meaning

Après-ski anyone? D&G's fall rtw 2010 collection is all about sweater dressing. From sweater leggings, dresses, tops, scarves and bodysuits they've covered it all. The log-cabin setting wasn't even necessary to get the ski-bum message across, and I love it. Reminds me of Canada.
Lots of different ways to wear this look, belted, paired with sheers on top or bottom, and of course furry mukluks and ski goggles. A different but cute collection from Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce.

OH and, fur, fur, fur!

Venus in Furs

..."Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather"....

Welcome back Dan and Dean! They're last collections worried me but their fall rtw 2010 collection is fierce and unbelievably sexy. Black was the dominant hue however, dsquared² vamped up pretty black cocktail dresses with dominatrix-esque upper-thigh-high patent RED boots...hot.

Another fav element of this collection is the fur. How could it not be? I just came back from fashion week in NY, and fur was everywhere! There's a certain old Hollywood element of fur that makes it elegant. Paired with sky-high leather boots and it becomes the perfect outfit for a vixen.
