Resort for the Powerful Woman

Tomas Maier's collection for Bottega Veneta Resort 2011 was not a typical vacay inspired collection, but none the less a beautiful display of powerful pieces.
Minimalism was the consistent trend, with a few splashes of bright and tight tops, and a couple loose, throw-on-before-the-beach dresses.
Shoes were simple, usually flat simple sandals with tall brown boots sprinkled in the mix.
Red carpet gowns called for bright and tiny clutches while the casual looks, the bags were over-sized. According to style.com, there was a made-to-order event at the Fifth Ave store last week that had women swarming the store for the five-figure "Bottega trophies."

Here are some of my fav looks of the collection, for the rest click here.

Dior 2010/2011

John Galliano brought Dior's Resort collection to an electric runway in Shanghai.
My favourite looks include the three piece suit (third look) and the feminine lace cocktail dresses.

The show itself was brilliantly done, I love the music and the lighting effects, check it out below!

Remember Now by Karl Lagerfeld

A peak into the lives of the tall, beautiful, rich and famous.

The film is full of Chanel models (wearing the 2011 Resort Collection) and French actor Pascal Greggory.

*Love Abbey Lee's hair
**Love the Mungo Jerry
***Love Lagerfeld.

All in all, I love it.

Chanel Resort, 2011

My favourite looks straight from Saint-Tropez at the 2011 Chanel Resort show.

Black & White, Head to Toe

New Classics

Safari Whites

Saint-Tropez Swimwear; Gingham and Glamour

Flowing Florals; Boho chic

.

Beautiful Brights
The collection showed several looks including brights, safari, pastels, florals, suits, classics, swimwear and rock & roll.
The care-free 70s seemed to be the inspiration for this collection, and why not, there shouldn't be a care in the world while dressed in Chanel in Saint-Tropez.

Rolling Stones Mick Jagger's model daughter Georgia May Jagger was walking the runway too, have a look.
