How About a Nightcap?

Stumbled upon a company called Nightcap, designed by Carisa Brambles. I'm a sucker for long sleeve mini dresses, and these lace accented minis are extremely sexy. Also included some Velvet items below, its a big trend for winter and I must say, the look is growing on me.

Love Headmistress

Fall is all about accessorizing, so I thought I'd share with you a company my friend introduced me to...I'm in love!

The company is called Headmistress and consists of delicate feathered pieces including headbands, bib necklaces, pins, brooches, rings and headdresses. Headmistress also features a collection of vintage fur pieces including a very old hollywood glam fur muff-clutch.

The free-spirited nature of this brand is right up my alley, and the best part is the founder, Jillian Wood, is a Canadian! You can find Headmistress pieces in stores all over the world, Wood is now based in Toronto.

Check out Headmistress here.

One of my favourite things to do is browse lookbook.nu, check out the various styles, but also note where the people are from. Headmistress posts images that fans send in of themselves wearing their brand. Take a look at the various places this company's feathers have spread too! Click here.

FALL TRENDS

I love when my predictions are right, here they are all summed up, the trends for Fall 2010. (there are some more but these are my fav)

Camel is the new black
While it isn't the only colour of the season, it is the colour of the season. Wear it anyway and every way. Head-to-toe, with black, with white, with denim. As outwear, inner-wear or on your feet.

Chloé

MaxMara, Gucci
Hervé Léger, Chloé

Aquascutum, Dolce and Gabbana

Marc Jacobs, Salvatore Ferragamo

Leopard Ladies
Fur is in, and so is this fierce print! Be daring and wear it as a full coat as seen in Gucci and Moschino (so Kate moss!). If not, warm up to the bold look by wearing leopard print accessories.

Clockwise: Salvatorre Ferragamo, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Balmain

Furocious Accents

Wear it from head to toe if you please like the Chanel fall 2010 show (Lagerfeld used faux fur for the entire show FYI) or use it as an accent piece. Real or Faux, this looks is hot.

Clockwise: Derek Lam, Jeremy Laing, Fendi, Oscar de la Renta

Mad woMen - Fifties
Totally fifties, totally hourglass, totally feminine. Accentuate your figure with a belted or pinched waist and a fuller skirt. Cute box cut handbags and yet some fur accents!

Clockwise: Loewe, Prada, Dries Van Noten, Louis Vuitton

Aviator anyone?
Bored of your pea coat (I AM!) Time to change things up and don a sporty shearling coat.

Left to right: ADAM, Burberry Prorsum

Leather Love
Leather isn't just for dominatrix. Wear this material in a new sexy way.

Left to right: Derek Lam, Hermès

Obsession of the month

Alber Elbaz has created a femme fatale collection while going for a minimal but flattering look. The show had model's donning cleopatra inspired wigs, and gorgeous tribal statement jewellery. The shoes were phenomenal and despite their out of the ordinary cut, these asymmetrical pumps are totally wearable and totally sexy.

Wildfox and Witchcraft: Fall 2010

Wildfox Couture Fall 2010: It's Witchcraft from WILDFOX PR on Vimeo.

Another short film from the brand I can't get enough of, Wildfox Couture. Their Fall 2010 collection is Witchcraft inspired with a little help from the rabbits, snakes and magic potion no.9.

Can Gucci keep fashion legend Alexander McQueen's label alive?

The Gucci Group announced in February that they are going continue the late Alexander McQueen's label.
I am not sure how that will be possible. McQueen's mind was one-of-a-kind, and a genius at that.

""People can try to imitate Alexander McQueen, but what is it going to be?” asked Jeffry M. Aronsson, who runs a consulting and investment group called the Aronsson Group and who was formerly the chief executive of Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta. “Brash behavior? You can make all of the loud statements he used to make, but it won’t be him.”" -New York Times
