This past May 14th, the Chanel Resort 2010 collection was showcased on the boardwalk on the Venice Lido. Lagerfeld brought back the classic chanel suits, but also added some edgier pieces using lace, silk and sheer scarves. The show consisted of a few looks including nautical-beach, sophisticated business casual (classic tweed suits), vaudeville (the lace trims and sheer vintage styled undergarments) and of course, elegant evening wear.
Lagerfeld has no doubt been able to carry on the sophisticated reputation and traditions that Coco Chanel began in 1913, allowing women to dress for themselves and their bodies and not for their men! Following her ideal look: simple, comfortable and revealing, Lagerfeld has lived up to her famous quote to Harper's Bazaar, 1923 "simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance."
